About us

Who We Are

WE ARE MERCY

Mercy Church is a family-oriented, Christ-centered, and community-minded church located in Little Rock, Arkansas. We exist to create a welcoming space where people from all walks of life can encounter God, experience His mercy, and grow in faith.

We believe church should feel like home—a place where you are known, valued, and encouraged to become who God created you to be.

Our Heart Is People, Restored by God’s Mercy

At Mercy Church, our heart is to see lives restored and faith strengthened through the love and mercy of Jesus Christ. We are passionate about reaching people who may feel overlooked, broken, or searching for purpose, and creating a place where everyone is welcomed, loved, and encouraged to grow.

We believe real transformation happens when people encounter God in a genuine way. That’s why we are committed to practical teaching, authentic faith, and building a church family where grace leads the way and mercy meets you right where you are.

At Mercy Church, Pastor Long desires to see lives restored, faith strengthened, and believers equipped to walk boldly in their God-given purpose. His leadership reflects a simple message: no matter where you come from, God’s mercy meets you right where you are.

The Mercy Church was founded on February 13, 2015, by Pastor Terrance “Scottie” Long and First Lady Dee James-Long in response to a God-given call to serve the community and bring people closer to Christ.

Inspired by Hebrews 4:16, our name reflects our mission—to be a place where people can confidently receive mercy and grace in their time of need. From our first vision meeting with 13 people to our initial worship services and outreach efforts, The Mercy Church has been committed to building God’s Kingdom in an untraditional yet impactful way.

Through community outreach, prayer, and partnership with Geyer Springs First Baptist Church and the Arkansas Baptist Connection, The Mercy Church continues to grow and carry out the vision God has entrusted to us.

Our Core Values

Rooted in God’s Word, Guided by His Spirit

Reconciliation – to bring into agreement or harmony; make compatible or consistent: To Restore.  The Ministry of Reconciliation- 2 Corinthians 5:11-21

At TMC, we strongly believe in being FAMILYORIENTED—a principle that places the family at the center and  emphasizes their values, strengths, and relationships. While faith can play a powerful role in shaping a strong  family foundation, commitment to family itself remains a vital part of who we are as a church community.

Order reflects God’s intentional design and divine authority. From the beginning, Genesis 1 shows that God created all things in perfect order—not chaos. Because God is a God of Order, we believe His people should live with purpose, structure, and direction.

At The Mercy Church, we value order in every area of life:

Personal Life — mind, body, soul, and lifestyle

Family Life — immediate and extended relationships

Spiritual Life — prayer and praise

Jesus came to restore order to a broken world, and through the Holy Spirit, we are empowered to live aligned with God’s will.

At The Mercy Church, we believe change requires:

Surrendered lives — fully devoted to God

Renewed minds — shaped by truth, not the world

Christlike attitudes — humility, love, and unity

We refuse to conform to the patterns of this world. Through the power of Christ and the work of the Holy Spirit, we embrace transformation that leads us into God’s good, pleasing, and perfect will.

Accountability creates space for growth, healing, and integrity. At The Mercy Church, we believe we are better together—walking in honesty, love, and responsibility toward one another. We choose to live transparently, encourage one another, and lovingly hold each other to God’s standards so we can grow into all He has called us to be.
